With Batten Professor Kirsten Gelsdorf

As students interested in global issues a typical week of reading and lectures may bombard you with the very real facts that over 125 million people are caught in crisis, that every day 25,000 children die of preventable deaths, that aid workers commit sexual crimes, and the United States has been separating children from their parents at border. It can be overwhelming and challenging to decide what your role should be, or how to not feel guilt or be disillusioned. As a humanitarian aid practitioner I have had many years of struggle trying to understand my relationship to global humanity and learning how to work in terrible crisis. I hope together we can share our thoughts and feelings and think about what our relationship can be to the world around us.

As always, there will be food provided!
