This year, Habitat has really focused on educating ourselves about housing issues, history, and local initiatives. We have covered a lot of ground leading presentations on topics from the racial wealth gap and the tragedies of Vinegar Hill to the hopes of up and coming mixed-income (Habitat sponsored) neighborhoods like Southwood and UVA’s AHI. One major question keeps returning: What is the impact of UVA on the Charlottesville housing market and what is UVA’s role/responsibility in affordable housing issues in our community
